During this window, the DNS record for smtp.cloudhelix.io will be switched to an active-passive failover DNS record, with an SMTP Relay in Telehouse West (London, UK) set as primary, and an SMTP Relay in Equinix LD6 (Slough, UK) set as the secondary.

Once complete, if there is an outage to the Ekco management platform in Telehouse West in future, the DNS record for smtp.cloudhelix.io will automatically update to the secondary server, to avoid extended downtime.

During the change there may be a brief outage to the Ekco SMTP Relay service as DNS is updated. The time-to-live (TTL) on the record is set to 60 seconds, so any outage to this service will be kept to an absolute minimum.

NB: customer virtual machines will be unaffected by this maintenance.
